Kia ora koutou,
On Monday, October 18 we will still be in Level 3.
The school is officially closed. This may be only Monday and Tuesday or longer depending on government decisions.
If all the adults in your household are essential workers, your child/ren may attend school from 8:45am to 3pm. If your family is in this position, please email Pippa principal@hameast.school.nz by 7pm Saturday, October 16.
Please identify children, adults and their place/s of work, and days when the child/ren cannot be supervised because of this.
You need to know that the bubble we provide will NOT look like school as your children know it. They cannot access any playgrounds, sing/dance inside or work/play closely alongside others. 2 metres distance is required at all times. If there are family groups they will be in the same bubble. They will not have their own teacher or classroom.
At level 3 it is important to stay in your family bubble.
Sending children to school should be the last and final option.
You will have heard that it is now mandatory (law) that all school staff are vaccinated.
We encourage you and eligible family members to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Super Saturday is this Saturday https://covid19.govt.nz/covid-19-vaccines/how-to-get-a-covid-19-vaccination/super-saturday/
If there is something the school can help you with in regards to getting vaccinated, please let me know.
Thank you,
Pippa Wright
